Cause: sank during minelaying operation, thought to have been sunk by one of its own mines.

(HMS EGERIA, HI 63/78). H2331/85 10.7.86 SMALL OBJECT LOCATED PROTRUDING FROM EDGE OF SANDBANK IN 512004N, 013005E [OGB], USING TRISPONDER. IN GEN DEPTH 5.5-9.5MTRS. NO SCOUR. GAVE LARGE MAGNETIC DEFLECTION. POOR SONAR CONTACT. RECOMMEND CHART AS FOUL. (NP 1016, HI 298). BR STD. HH090/647/01 28.10.94 EXAM'D IN 512003.7N, 013005.0E [OGB] USING TRISPONDER [3 LOP]. LEAST E/S DEPTH 7.6 IN GEN DEPTH 6.6-7MTRS. SCOUR DEPTH 7.7MTRS. NO DCS3 SHADOW. ISOLATED CONTACT SITTING IN ITS OWN SCOUR. STRONG MAGNETOMETER DEFLECTION. (NP 1016, HI 647).
