Shipwreck details

Name: HMS WAR SEPOY

Length 121.9 meter, width: 15.8 meter, draught: 8.5, tonnage 5575 ton

Cause: 26.4.64 built in 1918 by william grey & co. west hartlepool. transferred to the admiralty in 1921. three boilers, triple expansion engine, single shaft. attacked by enemy aircraft and burnt out. filled with concrete and sunk as blockship in the w entrance to dover harbour. sunk so that her forepart touched the wk of spanish prince, which was in the deepest part. disposal work commenced 26.4.64 after which the entrance was clear. (sibi & dods).
