Along the Dutch waters you will find hundreds of slipways where you can launch your boat. Here you can see where you can go.

Many of these slopes are free to use, but there are also ones - in marinas for example - for which you need to be a member or pay a fee. This has both advantages and disadvantages, you can read more about this in the article below the map.

There are two types of boat ramps available: public ramps and paid ramps often found in marinas. What can you expect?

Public slipways:

Benefits

1. Free - Public slipways are generally free to use.
2. Accessibility - Public slipways are often easily accessible and spread over different locations.
3. No Membership Required - No membership or entrance fee is required to use a public boat ramp.

Disadvantages

1. Business - Public slipways can be very busy during busy periods, which can lead to long waiting times.
2. Limited facilities - Public slipways often have limited facilities, such as parking spaces and toilets.
3. Less security - Public slipways often have less security than paid slipways.

Paid boat ramps (in marinas):

Benefits

1. Access to facilities - Paid slipways - especially in marinas - provide access to extensive facilities, such as parking spaces, toilets and sometimes even showers.
2. Less Crowds - Paid boat ramps tend to be less crowded than public boat ramps.
3. Security - Paid slipways usually have more security.

Disadvantages

1. Costs - Paid boat ramps at marinas sometimes require a membership in addition to an entrance fee.
2. Obligations - When using paid slipways in marinas, there may logically be obligations, such as having a berth in the marina or paying an annual contribution.
