Cause: vessel, built in 1892 by harland & wolff, belfast. owned at time of loss by t & j brocklebank. on passage from calcutta to london & dundee. was wrecked on goodwin sands due to a congestion of shipping, strong tides & her inability to obtain a pilot. crew & passengers safe, one suicide. (lloyds, dods & shipwreck index of the british isles).
