Cause: Vessel, built 1908 by short bros, was torpedoed & sunk by a german submarine in the north sea. owned at the time of loss by brys & gylsen. (dods). sunk 6m n of elbow buoy while on passage algiers for middlesbro. (ll ww1). 6.6.1915 sunk by german submarine 'ub 10' on 6.6.1915. (naval staff monographs, vol.13).
