Cause: bult in 1944 by st john's river sb co, jacksonville, florida. owned at time of loss by us war shipping administration. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 2500 hp, single shaft. passage new york for liverpool and antwerp. torpedoed on maiden voyage by u 245. 9 crew & 3 passengers lost. cargo included mechanised equipment, sewer pipes, acids, oils and portable air strip materials. (sibi, ww2sl, dods, ll ww2 & axis submarine successes).
