Cause: built in 1922 by new waterway shipbuilding co, schiedam. owned at time of loss by nederl. amerik stoomv maats. four boilers, triple s turbines of 880 nhp. passage tampico for rotterdam, via london and antwerp. cargo cotton. mined. 14206 tons cotton cargo salvaged in 1952.
