Cause: Built in 1907 by w harkness & son, middlesbrough. owned at time of loss by meteor ss co ltd. single boiler, triple expansion engine of 96hp, single shaft. passage middlesbrough for fecamp. cargo cast iron pigs. struck mine and sank.

H2917/83 1.4.84 OUTSIDE AREA SURVEYED, BUT DETECTED DURING TURN AT END OF SOUNDING LINE. APPARENTLY SMALL TO MEDIUM, INTACT WK. NOT EXAM'D. (SOISS, HI 196). NCA. HH090/616/01 6.1.94 EXAM'D 5.8.94 IN 520826.33N, 014522.63E [OGB] USING SYLEDIS [3 LOP]. SWEPT CLEAR 15.3, FOUL 15.5MTRS. LEAST E/S DEPTH 15.9 IN GEN DEPTH 23MTRS. SCOUR DEPTH 0.5MTRS. DCS3 HT 7MTRS. LENGTH 60MTRS, WIDTH 15MTRS. LIES 025/205 DEGS. APPEARS TO BE BROKEN INTO SEVERAL PIECES AND PARTLY BURIED. SMALL PIECE OF WRECKAGE SOME 1.3MTRS HIGH LIES 200MTRS N OF THE WRECK. (GARDLINE, HI 616).
