Cause: Ex-kempton '37, ex-mayrix '34. built by cochran & sons, selby. owned at time of loss by the polgarth ss co. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 111hp, single shaft. passage blyth for southampton. cargo 860 tons coal. struck a mine. wk was subsequently dispersed by explosives.
