Cause: ex-turret bell. built in 1894 by w doxford & sons, sunderland. owned at time of loss by the arctic ss co ltd. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 233hp, single shaft. passage bilbao for west hartlepool. cargo iron ore. mined, fore part sank in 10 seconds.

WK APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN DISPERSED. TWO LARGE BOILERS REMAIN IN AMONGST A MASS OF TANGLED METAL. NO RECOGNISABLE PARTS OF THE SHIP WERE FOUND. (B HICKINBOTTOM, EMAIL DTD 22.10.08). NCA.
