Cause: built in 1923 by blyth sb & dd co. owned at time of loss by sheaf steam shipping co. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 323hp, single shaft. passage tyne for london. cargo coal. struck a german-laid mine, was beached while on fire and settled by the stern.
