Cause: Built in 1911 by cant. nav. triestino, monfalcone. originally a n austro-hungarian vessel, but requisitioned and owned at time of loss by the admiralty. managers everett & newbigin. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 390hp, single shaft. machinery by d rowan & co, glasgow. passage the tyne for london. cargo coal. struck a mine and commenced to sink rapidly. was taken in tow but sank. crew recovered.
