Cause: built in 1907 by cook, welton & gemmel, beverly. originally owned by roberts & ruthven ltd. hired by the admiralty in 1914. single boiler, triple expansion engine of 80hp, single shaft. mined.

SCOUR 21.6MTRS. MEDIUM SIZED WRECK, 60MTRS LONG. LYING N/S. COULD BE BREAKING UP INTO TWO EQUAL PARTS. (HMS BULLDOG, HI 31/76). BR STD. HH090/667/01 14.12.95 LOCATED 24.5.95 IN 520431.16N, 014506.06E [WGD] USING DGPS. SWEPT CLEAR 15.3, FOUL 15.6MTRS. LEAST E/S DEPTH 16.4 IN GEN DEPTH 20.0MTRS. SCOUR DEPTH 1.4MTRS. DCS3 HT 5.6MTRS. LENGTH 15MTRS, WIDTH 17MTRS. LIES 000/180 DEGS. MAGNETIC ANOMALY OBSERVED. LYING ON ITS SIDE. (OCEONICS, HI 667). PREVIOUS CHARTED POSN IN ERROR DUE TO PROBABLE UNDETECTED LANE SLIP.

- NM 1567/96. HH100/351/13 24.2.98 A MEDIUM SIZED WRECK, UPRIGHT ON THE SEABED, WITH THE HIGHEST PART STANDING 3MTRS CLEAR OF THE SEABED. THIS HIGH POINT IS THE REMAINS OF THE BRIDGE, WHICH WAS MIDSHIPS. VESSEL HAD TWIN HANDLED TELEGRAPH SO POSSIBLY HAD TWIN ENGINES. EXCEPT FOR A SMALL SECTION OF BRIDGE AREA, APPROX 6MTRS LONG, THE REST OF THE VESSEL HAS COLLAPSED AND STANDS ONLY 1.5MTR CLEAR OF THE SEABED. FWD OF THE BRIDGE IS WELL BROKEN UP AND THE BOW IS PARTLY BURIED. (B HICKINBOTTOM, LTR DTD 23.2.98). NCA. SEP 2016/000091759 18.8.17 EXAM'D 13.12.16; IN 5204.520N, 0145.108E [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 15.78MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 23MTRS, LENGTH 29.4MTRS, WIDTH 9.3MTRS, HEIGHT 3.6MTRS, ORIENTATION 157/337 DEGS. SCOUR LENGTH 81.79MTRS, 1.96MTRS DEEP, TOWARDS 011 DEGS. WRECK IS LARGELY INTACT AND PARTIALLY BURIED. (GARDLINE, HI 1495). AMEND DW 15.7MTRS IN REVISED POSN.
