Cause: Ex-sutherland '36. built in 1935 by w doxford & sons ltd, sunderland. owned at time of loss by rio cape line ltd. 3 cylinder oil engine of 388hp, single shaft. passage new york for london. cargo copper, steel and general. bombed & sunk by german aircraft.
