Cause: 4.5.41 built in 1919 by smith's dock, middlesbrough. owned at time of loss by granta steam shipping co. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 266hp, single shaft. passage hartlepool for london. cargo coal. bombed by german aircraft 4.5.41. taken in tow but later sank. 1 bomb on the port beam, 3 struck the ship amidships and 1 fell on the starboard beam.
