Cause: built in 1881 by j readhead & co, newcastle-upon-tyne. owned at time of loss by the elliott s tug co ltd (dick & page). two boilers, compound expansion engine of 151hp, single shaft. passage london for the tyne. cargo ?ballast or ?steel. sank following collision with russian barque 'hoppet'. all hands lost.
