Cause: Built in 1921 by swan hunter & wigham richardson ltd, newcastle-upon-tyne. owned at time of loss by voortzetting van den kon. five boilers, two turbines on single shaft. 1066 hp. machinery by vickers electrical co ltd, newcastle-upon-tyne. passage mackay for london. cargo 4700 tons sugar, 1755 tons meat, 1389 tons steel, 774 tons wool and 20 tons milk powder. foundered after attack by german aircraft.

NO SCOUR & WK IS UNLIKELY TO SINK INTO SEABED. (E GILES, 9.1.72). 14.3.73 CHART AS WK 17.2MTRS [LAT]. NC 106. H4852/74 20.12.74 CLOSE SOUNDED BY HMS BULLDOGS 31FT MSB ON 29.7.74.
