Cause: built of iron in 1870 t w smith & co, newcastle-upon-tyne. owned at time of loss by the goole shipping co. one boiler, two quadruple expansion engines of 80hp, twin shaft. machinery by the ne marine engineering co, sunderland. passage goole for ghent. cargo coal. foundered following collision with ss breeze. breeze had previously that day collided with ss orient.

BR STD. H1952/80 27.1.83 EXAM'D 2.6.82 IN 524942N, 014034E [OGB] USING HIFIX/6 [2 LOP]. SWEPT CLEAR AT 23.3, FOUL AT 23.6MTRS. LEAST E/S DEPTH 23.5MTRS IN GEN DEPTHS 26 TO 27MTRS. SCOUR 2 TO 3MTRS DEEP TO NW & NE OF WK. DCS3 HT 4.8MTRS, LENGTH 50MTRS, BEAM 10MTRS. LYING, APPARENTLY INTACT, 010/190 DEGS, WITH HIGHEST PART AT S END. (SOISS, HI 22). AMEND TO SW 23.3MTRS. BR STD. HH100/351/01 27.3.91 HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS WK OF COLLIER SEAHAM. STANDS APPROX 5MTRS HIGH AND IS INTACT EXCEPT WHERE SUPERSTRUTURE HAS COLLAPSED INTO HULL. (R W HICKINBOTTOM, 24.2.91).
