Cause: Vessel, built 1913 by scotts' sb & e co. and owned at the time of loss by cunard line, struck a mine & sank 2m s of the royal sovereign ltv with the loss of two lives while en route from new york to london. (dods, ll wwi & ww1sl). also repd to have been sunk by torpedo. (wks around uk 1919).
