THOUGHT TO BE SMALL WOODEN TRAWLER 40-45FT LONG, WHICH SANK 1969/70. DCS3 SHADOW INDICATES LARGER VESSEL, POSSIBLY 48MTRS [160FT] LONG, BUT MAY BE BROKEN UP. LIES 030/210DEGS. (HMS ECHO, HI 41/76). INS AS WK 29MTRS. BR STD. H1965/76 27.11.80 EXAM'D 24.4.80 IN 503833N, 000918E [OGB] USING TRISPONDER [2 LOP]. LEAST E/S DEPTH 28 IN GEN DEPTH 33MTRS. NO SCOUR. HYDROSEARCH LENGTH 37.3MTRS, BEAM 8.5MTRS, HT 4.6MTRS. MEDIUM SIZED WK, UPRIGHT, LYING N/S, BOWS N. APPARENTLY WOODEN, WITH RIBS EXPOSED, & 3 HATCHES. (HMS BULLDOG, HI 37A/77). AMEND TO WK 28MTRS IN REVISED POSN. BR STD. H1310/86/29 26.11.86 DIVED AND FOUND TO BE OLD IRON VESSEL ABOUT 35MTRS LONG, 6MTRS BEAM, LYING UPRIGHT IN GEN DEPTH 36MTRS. HULL HEAVILY SILTED WITH SOFT MUD, HAS IRON TRANSVERSE DECK BEAMS EVERY 1.5MTRS. NO SUPERSTRUCTURE. COAL SCATTERED ON SITE. INFESTED WITH LARGE CONGER EELS. (T W BENNETTO, 28.10.86). H1310/88/20 7.4.88 POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED AS WK OF 'GEORGE SUTTON' - NAME ON HUB OF SHIP'S WHEEL. LIES UPRIGHT, WITH BOWS APPROX N, STANDING 4 TO 5MTRS HIGH. 2MTRS SCOUR AROUND PORT SIDE AND STERN. (T W BENNETTO, 9.3.88). HH100/351/05 12.5.92 LOCATED IN 503830N, 000919E [OGB] USING DECCA. (C MARTIN, 13.4.92). SEP 2015/000083466 5.2.16 EXAM'D 16.07.15 IN 5038.589N, 0009.204E [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 29.69MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 32.89MTRS. NO SCOUR, LENGTH 40MTRS, HT 3.2MTRS, WIDTH 12MTRS. LARGELY INTACT WK, PARTIALLY BURIED, STRONG MAGNETIC ANOMALY. (GARDLINE GEOSURVEY, HI 1477). AMEND NDW 29.5MTRS IN REVISED POSN.
