Cause: 11.12.78 ceded to french at end of wwi. reported to have been lost while being towed to british breakers for scrapping. (r a todd, 11.12.78).

- NM 2368/39. H4959/73 4.4.75 EXAM'D 19.10.74 IN 504030N, 001518E [OGB] USING HIFIX [2 LOP]. LEAST E/S DEPTH 22.8 IN GEN DEPTH 28MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 SHADOW LENGTH 250FT. (HMS BEAGLE, HI 55/74). AMEND TO WK 22.8MTRS [12FMS 3FT] IN REVISED POSN.

- NM 1531/75. H1287/75 9.9.75 WK IN REPORTED POSN IDENTIFIED AS A SUBMARINE. LIES IN MAXIMUM DEPTH 125FT AND IS ORIENTATED SW/NE. HAS A 15DEG LIST TO PORT AND STANDS ABOUT 11FT HIGH - HIGH POINT NEAR GUN. CONNING TOWER IS DAMAGED WITH PORT OUTER SKIN BROKEN OFF AND LYING ON SEABED. OVERALL LENGTH BETWEEN 120FT AND 170FT. PROPELLERS SEEN. PERISCOPE IN RAISED POSN. COMPASS BINNACLE MISSING. HULL REASONABLY CORRODED WITH DAMAGE NEAR PORT BOW WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A MINE. THERE IS ALSO A HOLE IN STBD SIDE NEAR FORWARD HYDROPLANES. EXAM'D BY DIVERS FROM HOUNSLOW BRANCH BSAC ON 31.8.75. (P CORNISH, 5.9.75). H1288/75 29.9.75 CONFIRMED AS WK OF A SUBMARINE. LIES IN GEN DEPTH 90FT AT LW. CONNING TOWER HATCH IS OPEN AND THE ENTRANCE TO WHICH IS VERY NARROW AND POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS TO DIVERS. (J WHITE, 27.9.75).
