Cause: Built in 1953 by flensburger masch. anst., flensburg. owned at time of loss by partenreederei m s harnis. passage ymuiden to whitby. cargo iron. anchored because of fog about 20 miles off flamborough hd. was run into by russian fv 'srt 4573'. sank in about 10 minutes.

(KINGFISHER BOOK OF TOWS - VOL.1). H4064/85 22.8.86 LOCATED AND EXAM'D IN 535548N, 002354E [OGB] USING SYLEDIS. SWEPT CLEAR AT 28MTRS, FOUL AT 28.1MTRS. LEAST E/S DEPTH 32.7MTRS. DCS3 LENGTH 65MTRS, BEAM 9MTRS. LIES 120/300 DEG. (UDI GROUP LTD, HN FOR HI 321A).

SEP 2016/000053291 12.10.16 EXAM'D 21.3.16; IN 5355.822N, 0023.799E [WGD]. LEAST WCD DEPTH 28.15MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 45MTRS, LENGTH 72.7MTRS, WIDTH 12.5MTRS, HEIGHT 18.2MTRS, ORIENTATION 126/306 DEGS. SCOUR DIMENSIONS LENGTH 10MTRS, TOWARD 225 DEGS. WRECK SITS ON ITS HULL, UPRIGHT BUT LISTING TO PORT. THE FORWARD SECTION HAS BROKEN AWAY AND IS STARTING TO DISINTEGRATE. ADDITIONALY DATA IN THE WATER COLUMN AT THE REAR SETION OF THE WRECK SHOWS ADEPTHS OF 23.3 WHICH APPEARS TO BE A MAST WITH ROPE ATTACHED. THERE IS A STRONG MAGNETIC ANOMALY. (MMT, HI 1473). AMEND DW 28MTRS IN REVISED POSITION.
