Shipwreck details

Name: Name nicht bekannt

Length 42.8 meter, width: 7.6 meter, draught: 4, tonnage 730 ton

Cause: Built of steel in 1929 by cochrane & sons ltd of selby. originally registered at grimsby and owned by consolidated fisheries ltd. single boiler, triple expansion engine of 103 hp, single screw. purchased by the adimralty as a minesweeper in 8.1939. sank after detonating a german mine.

DRIFT SWEPT CLEAR AT 23.5, FOUL AT 24.0MTRS. LEAST E/S DEPTH 25.3 IN GEN DEPTH 32MTRS. SCOUR 2.5MTRS DEEP. DCS3 LENGTH 70FT. (HMS BEAGLE, HI 55/74).

- NM 1531/75. 7.4.93 DIVED ON SEVERAL TIMES IN 505142N, 005718E AND IDENTIFIED BY BUILDER'S PLATE. LIES UPRIGHT ON SW'LY HEADING. INTACT WITH 4" GUN MOUNTED ON BOW. STANDS 9MTRS ABOVE GRAVEL SEABED. (B J WATKINS, 4.4.93). NCA. HH100/351/20 9.7.03 DIVED IN LISTED POSN. A LARGE WK, INTACT & UPRIGHT. ENGINE MIDSHIPS. AN OLD SS. WOODEN DEADEYES SEEN ON THE FOREDECK. TOO BIG FOR A TRAWLER. (D BARBER, EMAIL DTD 7.7.03). NCA. SEP 2015/000083464 13.2.16 EXAM'D 18.6.15; IN 5052.029N, 0058.141E [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 23.9MTRS, GEN DEPTH 33MTRS. LENGTH 77MTRS, WIDTH 15MTRS, HT 8.5MTRS, ORIENTATION 030/210. WK PARTLY BROKEN, PARTIALLY BURIED, STRONG MAGNETIC ANOMALY. (HI 1475, GARDLINE GEOSURVEY). AMEND DW 23.5MTRS IN REVISED POSN.
