Shipwreck details

Name: HMS GRAFTON

Length 95.1 meter, width: 10.1 meter, draught: 2.7, tonnage 1335 ton

Cause: Vessel built 1935 by thornycroft & co ltd. turbine engines. three drum boilers. torpedoed by german e-boat near kwinte buoy, whilst attempting to pick up survivors from hms wakeful, which also had been torpedoed, during the evacuation of allied troops from dunkirk. (dods & r verpoorte).

Details measurements/cartography: [NO DATE] POSN APPROX 512200N, 024200E [EUR] , FOR FILING ONLY. HH100/351/02 1.6.90 HMS GRAFTON NOT YET FOUND. WAS APPARENTLY FINALLY SUNK BY GUNFIRE FROM HMS IVANHOE AND SHE PROBABLY DRIFTED FOR SOME TIME BEFORE THIS OCCURED. (D TERMOTE, 19.4.90). NCA.
