Cause: Built in 1972 by oy wartsila ab, turku. owned at time of loss by campagnie generale d'armaments maritimes. passage dunkirk for riga. sank following collision with m ro-ro m ferry olau britannia. vessles remained locked after collision, when olau was pulled clear by tugs, mont louis sank at once. cargo included 30 containers of uranium hexafluoride, all of which were recovered. was carrying 935 british, german & dutch passengers. none lost. (msd).
