THE WHOLE LIES IN A NARROW VALLEY RUNNING APPROX NW/SE, BETWEEN RIDGES WHICH RISE TO 43FT BELOW DATUM CLOSE ON EITHER SIDE. AS TIDAL STREAMS RUN STRONGLY NE TO SW IT PROVED IMPOSSIBLE TO SWEEP WK. GREEN CAN BUOY LIES 275DEG 460YARDS FROM WK. (HMS SHACKLETON, 10.9.53). AMEND TO NDW, WITH G CAN BUOY CLOSE W.
