Load: ferrous elements and ores: unrefined and refined
Cause: ex-kronprincesse louise. built in 1902. owned at time of loss by lambert brothers ltd, london. two boilers, triple expansion engine, single shaft. passage bilbao for glasgow. torpedoed by u-91. 19 men lost. (sibi).positional analysis: the position in u91's ktb plots 3.8nm south of this wreck. it should also be noted that the position given in war losses (1990) is the same as given by the senior survivor (3rd engineer) and is given as 34nm sw of holyhead (tnaadm 137/1516). the position was alsogiven by another survivor as 34nm swj6w of the chickens(tna adm137/1516). in the light of the fact that all the senior officers perished in the sinking, the survivor depositions appear less accurate. they plot 70nm apart. the nearest plots 15.2nm north of the wreck.archival analysis: the u-boat ktb and survivor reports in adm 137/1516 both state the vessel was stuck aft, survivors stating the torpedo hit no4hold. the wreck is damaged aft. the ship was enroute to glasgow from spain and would therefore have been steaming in a northerly route. the wreck points to the north.
