(sibi & uboat.net).positional analysis: the wreck lies snm ne of the position given in war losses (1990) and in irish sea (tna adm 137/1515). it plots 13nm north of the position given in u101's ktb.archival analysis: the ship was sailing from dundalk to dimnor, north wales in ballast. the holds appear to be empty.

H4466/81 11.4.84 EXAM'D 17.5.83 IN 534412N, 051507W [OBG] USING HIFIX/6 [2 LOP]. LEAST E/S DEPTH 58 IN GEN DEPTH 71MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 HT 5.7MTRS, LENGTH 85MTRS, WIDTH 50MTRS. LYING 080/260 DEG WITH SHOALEST PART AT E END. (HMS BEAGLE, HI 95). BR STD. HH100/351/16 7.12.00 DIVED IN 5344.20N, 0515.12W [WGD] USING GPS. LENGTH 24MTRS, WIDTH 7-8MTRS. STANDS 5MTRS HIGH BY DEPTH GAUGE. NO SCOUR. SLIGHT MAGNETIC ANOMALY. SEABED MUD. NO DEBRIS. A SMALL TRAWLER WITH A WHALE-BACK BOW AND AFT BRIDGE. STERN BADLY DAMAGED. SOME 40-50 YEARS OLD.
