Cause: built of wood in 1960 at girvan. owned at time of loss by g v challenor. struck the outermost rock off the burroo (s coast of the calf of man) a glancing blow and started to take water. attemptet to make port st mary but the engine stopped and the vessel began to sink by the head. crew of 2 recovered.

LEAST DEPTH TO TOP OF WHEELHOUSE 35MTRS, TO TOP OF MASTS 29MTRS. GEN DEPTH 41MTRS. INTACT BUT DAMAGE TO STEM OBSERVED WHICH EXTENDS FROM 15INCHES ABOVE WATERLINE TO THE KEEL, SOME 7FT. SOME OF THE PLANKS HAVE SPRUNG AND THIS IS WHERE WATER ENTERED THE VESSEL. CONSIDERED UNLIKELY TO BE LIFTED. (A CORKILL, EMAILS DTD 17 & 20.11.02). INS AS WK 27MTRS.

SQUARE FLAT RUDDER AND 4 BLADED PROPELLER, 20DEG LIST TO STARBOARD. SEABED SAND AND SHINGLE. SCALLOP-DREDGING GEAR LIES ON SEABED A FEW MTRS OFF STARBOARD SIDE, WITH LOST CARGO OF BAGS OF SCALLOPS FURTHER AWAY. RUBBER TYRE FENDERS STILL IN PLACE ON STARBOARD SIDE.
