Cause: ex 'ar-men'. built in 1907 by hall, russel & co of aberdeen. owned at time of loss by wear steam fishing co ltd. one boiler, triple expansion engine of 51nhp, single shaft. run down and sunk in misty conditions by french armed auxillary merchant cruiser ville d'alger. of the crew of 12, only one recovered. (sibi).

THE HULL IS UPRIGHT AND INTACT, APART FROM A SPLIT IN THE HULL FROM BELOW THE WATER LINE ON THE STBD SIDE EXPOSING THE ENGINE ROOM. THE BRIDGE HAS COLLAPSED. STANDS ABOUT 5MTRS HIGH. (J SHAW, LTR DTD 30.6.99). NCA. HH100/351/16 1.8.00 HH100/351/16 1.8.00 DIVED IN 5416.466N, 0451.280W [WGD] USING GPS. INTACT AND UPRIGHT IN AN AREA OF DEEP MUD. GUNNELS ONLY 1.5MTR ABOVE THE LEVEL OF MUD. VISIBILITY POOR DUE TO THE MUD. WHEELHOUSE IS OF STEEL AND IS COMPLETE. GANTRIES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VESSEL. POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED AS THE OONA HALL.
