Cause: built by w thomas & co, millom, cumnerland in 1882. a steam schooner of wooden construction with a single deck. two cylinder compound engine by j & t young of ayr, developing 32hp. owned at time of loss by captian hall of alrne. sprang a leak while on passage garston for belfast. crew took to the boat in heavy weather. they managed a safe landing at garwick in laxey bay. (a corkill).
