Shipwreck details

Name: ANGLE

Length 36.7 meter, width: 6.5 meter, draught: 3.5, tonnage 222 ton

Cause: 28.1.24 built by smith's dock co ltd, north shields in 1908. owned at time of loss by the croston steam trawling co. registered in fleetwood. triple expansion engine by w v v lidgerwood of glasgow. 68 rhp. left fleetwood for hake fishing off st kilda with a crew of 11 and 2 for trials. never seen again. on 28.1.24 lt roger owen of the fleetwood steam trawlers owners' mutual insurace co left fleetwood to dive on a wk. vessel found to be open fore and aft and flattened. wreckage with letters 'ang' and 'fleetwood' located. considered that the vessel had overran her distance in the se gale and gone onto the bahama bank. (a corkill).

- NM ACTION. H4676/28 31.7.28 DISPERSED TO DEPTH OF 10FT & BUOY WITHDRAWN. (TH LTR & THNM 6/24). DELETED.

- NM ACTION. HH100/351/15 3.12.99 REPORTED THAT THE BOILER AND ENGINE, TOGETHER WITH SOME PLATING, SURVIVE IN 5422.9N, 0415.750W [OGB]. POSN BY DECCA. (A CORKILL). AMENDED LIVE. INS AS NDW. BR STD.
