Name: WESTWICK

Length 123.4 meter, width: 15.9 meter, draught: 9.7, tonnage 5694 ton
Load: foodstuffs: solid

Cause: mined 1m s of roche's point, cork while on passage baltimore for hull. (ll ww1). abandoned by crew after being mined, drifted ashore at fish point, south end of ringabella bay. (shipwrecks of irish coast vol.1). built 1916 by pickersgill & sons, sunderland with 3 cylinder triple expansion engine of 452hp, single shaft, 3 boilers. machinery by richardsons, westgarth & co ltd, hartlepool. owned at time of loss by westwick ss co. (j westoll). abandoned by crew after being mined, drifted ashore. (sii).

INS OBSOLETE WK SYMBOL IN 514604N, 081740W WITH WK BUOY 3C E. BR STD. 28.6.23 NOW CHARTED AS DW. BR STD. H5519/31 31.7.31 WK BUOY REMOVED. (AUTHORITY NOT STATED). BR STD. H1282/75 8.4.75 ALL THAT REMAINS OF THIS WK IS THE DOUBLE BOTTOM & PART OF THE BOW. THIS WK WAS SALVAGED IN 1930S BY A SALVAGE FIRM WITH A 50 TON FLOATING CRANE. (M COLLINS, LETTER).
