THE TUG MAY BE THE 'KILLURIN' REPORTED IN 490910N, 020950W. (PLYMOUTH DIVING TEAM). TUG LATER CONFIRMED AS 'KILLURIN'. SEE [23163]. H1271/71 7.11.71 'ARNOLD MAERSK', 'KILLURIN' AND 'LA DETERMINEE' REPORTED ON TOP OF EACH OTHER. (CHANNEL ISLAND SALVAGE CO). H5055/75 12.11.75 FIXED IN 490915N, 020908W BY TRANSIT MARKS AND DECCA. STERN SECTION COMPLETELY BROKEN UP. LARGE HULL PLATES LYING FLAT ON SEA BED. MIDSHIPS SECTION OF WRECK/ENGINE ROOM/BOILER ROOM PIECES LYING IN GULLIES ON SIDES AND TOP OF REEF. BOW SECTION AND FORWARD HOLD LYING AT 90DEGS TO REMAINDER OF WRECK ON NORTH SIDE HAVING APPEARED TO HAVE SLID DOWN THE REEF FACE. DIVERS REPORT LITTLE DAMAGE TO THIS SECTION. LOWER PART OF HOLD MAY CONTAIN UNEXPLODED ORDNANCE. DEPTH OF WATER 7FMS. 3 X 25LB LIVE HE SHELLS REMOVED AND DISPOSED. SEA BED HAS LARGE JAGGED ROCK REEF WITH KELP OUTCROPS.
