The recreational lake Vlietland located ten southeast of Voorschoten. The recreational lake Vlietland is a deep sand pit consisting of two lakes that in open connection stand with the basin. The total open water surface of Vlietland amounts to zo'n 370 ha, the central heart (northern part) van Vlietland where the most swimmingwateractivities take place, is approximate 130 hectares.
