Cause: built in 1919 by hepple & co, south shields as an admiralty class trawler. 120 net tons, with an engine of 62 hp built by bellis & morcom ltd, birmingham. owned at time of loss by f r sampson of london (s & b trawling co). registered in aberdeen. during passage from fleetwood to the fishing grounds was in collision with steam trawler 'curiasse'. sank quickly taking the boat with it. crew of 10 rescued by the fleetwood steam trawler 'jacinta'. (a corkill).

- NM 3911/97. HH100/351/13 17.10.97 LOCATED AND DIVED IN LISTED POSN. WK VERY BROKEN UP AND SILTED WITH LITTLE WRECKAGE ABOVE THE SEABED. NO POSITIVE IDENTIFICATION. DEFINITELY A STEAM TRAWLER AS THE BOILER AND ENGINE ARE PRESENT TOGETHER WITH A VERY LARGE WINCH COMPLETE WITH STEEL CABLES. PROBABLY 'JOSEPH HODGKINS'. (A CORKILL).
