The Vinkeveense Plassen are located to south of Amsterdam, between the highway A2 and the place Vinkeveen in recreation area Winkelpolder. The total surface of the open water is approximately 960 ha. The Vinkeveense Plassen exist from the Zuidplas, the Kleine plas and the Noordplas. The swimming beaches are all in the Noordplas. The recreational-islands are artificial. De swimming location located on the westside of sandisland 8, this is on the shallow, quiet side. This swimming location is only via the water accessible.
