The Vinkeveense Plassen are located to south of Amsterdam, between the highway A2 and the place Vinkeveen in recreation area Winkelpolder. The total surface of the open water is approximately 960 ha. The Vinkeveense Lakes existing from the Zuidplas, the Kleine plas and the Noordplas. The swimming beaches are all in the Noordplas. The recreational are artificial. De swimming location located on the northside of island 5 on the deep and open water from the Noordplas. Via a bicycle-/loopbrug is this island connected with island 4 whereby the swimming location also from the fixed shore reachable is. Het island is extremely suitable for children because of the protected swimming-area with beach and the many play attributes.
