This bathing water location is classified in the water quality class “bad” and has therefore a permanent negative swimming advice. This class is determined on the basis of bacteriological research over a period of four years in the classification, “excellent”, “good”, “acceptable” or “bad”. This says something about the chance of getting of skin-, stomach- or intestinal complaints. At "bad" is the chance greater than "excellent". This IS NOT about the current quality of the water. If there something is on the hand is, that above and ter place indicated. --------------------------- Recreation area The Twiske lies ten north of Amsterdam between Den Ilp, Landsmeer and Oostzaan. The consists of diverse lakes, ditches, meadows and bushes and is surrounded by a dike with bicycle and footpath. The Doesstrand aan de Zuiderplas is één of the seven officialële swimming venues in the area.
