Cause: Built in 1881. left bremerhaven for new york with 199 passengers & 155 crew. vessel was involved in a collision with british ss crathie, approx 40m off lowestoft during a blizzard, there were only 20 survivors. owned at time of loss by norddeutscher lloyd. (dods).
