The lake is in 1977 constructed by a site to en is by the municipality Lelystad furnished as sailing lake. Het swimming beach located on the southwest shore. This part of the Bovenwater is the so-called Sailing lake. For this reason is the swimming beach in the Bovenwater also well “beach Sailing lake” .
