The Termunterzijl Beach at Termunterzijl is located in the Ems-Dollard estuary where the Wadden Sea over gaat in the Dollard/Eems. The water of the Ems-Dollard is salt because it in open connection is with the Wadden Sea. It at the swimming location bordering land is mainly in use as recreation area (camping and recreations/hutjes). This bathing water location is classified in the quality “bad” and has therefore a negative swimming advice. A quality class will be determined on based of bacteriological examination over a period of four years in the classification, “excellent”, “good”, “acceptable” or “bad”. This says something about the chance of getting of skin-, stomach- or intestinal complaints. At "bad" is the chance so greater than at "excellent". This isn't about the current quality of the water.
