This location is not officialële swimspot lake due to persistent poor water quality. ---------- Deze bathing water location is classified in the water quality class “bad” and has therefore a permanent negative swimming advice. This class is determined on the basis of bacteriological research over a period of four years in the classification, “excellent”, “good”, “acceptable” or “bad”. This says something about the chance on getting of skin-, stomach- or intestinal complaints. At "bad" is the chance greater than at "excellent". This NOT ABOUT the current quality of the water. If there something with it is on the hand is, that above and ter place. -------- Het Sloterstrand is located in the municipality Amsterdam, in the district New West. The puddle is in its current form in the years fifty by sand extraction origin, covers 89 hectares and is maximum approximate 35 metres deep. On the west- and east of the lake are cityparks. The banks around the Sloterstrand are different of nature. On the south (along the Lelylaan and the Osdorpplein) and on the northeast (at the pavilion) is a high and hard bank along which no some vegetation is present . On the southbound is the beach bounded by a wide boulevard with benches. Especially on the east of the lake and in less extent also at the west park area are more natural banks with a vegetation.
