Adhere to the RIVM measures! Het Henschotermeer is located to north of Maarn. The lake is almost complete surrounded by a sandy beach. On the north side is a piece overgrown with grass. The swimming area includes the entire entire lake and has therefore a surface of 11,4 hectares. The maximum depth is 2.00 m. Swimming is on own risk, on warmer days is there supervision present. Access: Person access & parking fee via online booking. In the swimming water of the Henschotermeer are worms sighted. It is about the leech Erpobdella octoculata. These small worms are whole innocent and family of the ‘normal’ earthworm. They suck also no blood, despite their speciesname other suggests. This ‘leeches’ life of algae and plankton. The bugs are already years in the Henschotermeer but in warm period are they in larger number present. They are totally harmless for humans.
