The swimming location „Drentse Weelde? is located to north of the village Hoogersmilde. Formerly called the swimming location The Horrebieter. De swimming location consists of 1 swimming lake. The recreational lake is located on the eponymous campsite: „Hub Holiday parks Drentse Weelde? who also is manager of the lake. The lake is entirely surrounded by a sandy beach that variërend is from 1 to 5 meters width. Bij the entrance of the lake is a informational board present with information concerning the location.

The water quality measurement is based on the amount of bacteria in nanograms per deciliter (n /dl). In this case it concerns the intestinal bacteria Escherichia coli (E.coli) and intestinal enterococci, which occur in the feces of both animals and humans.
