Cause: 5.5.86 suction hopper dredger 'zeeland' came in contact with western pier whilst entering calais on evening of 5.5.86, causing damage to upper part of bow, but no leak. vessel continued trading [?]. (lloyds vol 264). vessel probably ran against wooden bollard on 7.5.86, an extensive leak suddenly engulfed the boat. (french wk records).
