Cause: 29.11.54 built by c v gj van der werff, scheepsbouw, westerbroek. owned at time of loss by s boudewijn. 8 cylinder oil engine by man, single shaft. laid in ramasy bay prior to loading pig iron at millom on 29.11.54 intended for antwerp. listed as overdue by lloyd's on 6.12.54. severe sw gale had been blowing during the intervening period with gusts to 73 knots at douglas. a lifeboat had been washed up at seascale. (a corkill).
