Name: VANADIS (POSSIBLY)

Length 56.4 meter, width: 10.7 meter, draught: 10.1
Load: timber

Cause: built as a ship in 1874 by k lofhjelm, jakobstad for otto malm of the malm trading hous. later sold to captain j anderson of mariehamn, aland islands, finland. later converted to a barque. passage darien, georgia for fleetwood. aftr being wrecked was part salvaged and cargo removed. (adu report may 1997).

Details measurements/cartography: 31.10.91 STF, LYING SW/NE, SHOWN IN 540227.5N, 025452W ON PHOTOPLOT PG 2037 - LP1. (VERTICAL PHOT. V NERC MOD 5/90 DTD 30.4.90, INDEX NO.1922 & 1923/171). NC 1552 3.2.98 NOW CHARTED AS STP, AS CARRIES INTER-TIDAL TINT. NE 1552. 30.7.10 SHOWN IN 5402.469N, 0254.943W [WGD] ON BA 1552 (PLAN: HEYSHAM) [EDN 6 DTD 25.12.08]. 30.7.10 COULD BE THE REMAINS OF 'VANADIS'. (S CANT, ENGLISH HERITAGE, EMAIL DTD 27.7.10). NCA. 30.7.10 AT MOST EXPOSED STATE SOME112 FRAMES VISIBLE, WITH STEM AND STERN POSTS, PLANKING, IRON WORK AND PART OF THE KEELSON INCLUDING A FOREMAST STEP. PERIODICLY COVERED AND REBURIED. (ADU REPORT MAY 1997, VIA S CANT). NCA.
