Cause: Built in 1914 by bergens mek vaerks, bergen. owned at time of loss by carl traae aktiss. two boilers, triple expansion engine, single shaft. passage the tyne for palermo. cargo coal and coke. founderd, possibly after striking a mine laid by the german cruiser kolberg.

HH090/730/01 18.11.97 EXAM'D 9.7.97 IN 541732.4N, 001346.0W [WGD] USING DGPS. LEAST E/S DEPTH 41.7 IN GEN DEPTH 47MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 HT 5.0MTRS. LENGTH 70MTRS, WIDTH 14MTRS. LIES 005/185 DEGS. INTACT AND UPRIGHT. CARGO HATCHES AND SOME SUPERSTRUCTURE VISIBLE ON SONAR RECORDS. SMALL SECTION OF DEBRIS 2MTRS HIGH LIES 10MTRS FWD OF BOWS. (GARDLINE, HI 730). PROBABLY BOWS N. BR STD. HH100/351/17 25.4.01 DIVED IN 1998. SITS UPRIGHT ON AN EVEN KEEL. BOWS HAVE STEEL RIBS STANDING HIGH WITH THE HULL PLATING COLLAPSED TO THE SEABED. WK IS FLAT FROM THE BOWS TO MIDSHIPS, FROM HERE AFT WK IS HIGH AND INTACT. LARGE DECK BEAMS STILL SPAN THE BEAM WIDTH. PRESSURE GAUGE LOCATED MARKED 'A/S BERGEN MEK VAERKSTED, BERGEN'.
