LIES 025/205DEGS. MAGNETIC ANOMALY INDICATES FERROUS CONTENT OF 300 TONS. POSSIBLY THE SPIRAL. (HMS BULLDOG, HI 533). AMEND TO WK 47MTRS IN REVISED POSN. BR STD. HH100/351/17 2.10.01 DIVED 8.01 IN LISTED POSN. A SMALL, UPRIGHT, BROKEN SS MEASURING 132FT IN LENGTH. THERE IS ONE BOILER BUT THE ENGINE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE IN THE HULL. A BOX FOUND WAS MARKED: 'STEERING COMPASS HEELING ERROR COIL - BELL PUNCH COMPANY LTD MANUFACTURERS. PAT NO 866A'. DEFINITELY NOT 'SPIRAL'. PROBABLY BELONGED TO THE ADMIRALTY. (N R CHIPCHASE). NCA. 7.9.07 FURTHER INSPECTION SUGGESTS THAT THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED PRIOR TO SINKING. COULD POSSIBLY BE A WW2 ADMIRALTY TARGET, CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH WEAPONS' TESTING ON THE NEARBY 'AENEAS'.
